So first of all bear with me here I am by no means a coder. this is all from internet tutorials and osmosis.

I made a neocities site because I ran out of carrd elements and I didn't want to buy Carrd premium. I looked at some neocities because I remembered someone i kinda knew from school had a neocities. I feel into a rabbit hole and I really wanted to collect blinkies so now I'm here. I've been sort of captivated by the small/indie web and pieces of it feel slightly nostalgic, though the 2000s nostaligia on a lot of websites here is not something i was really old enough to understand when it was still there, and of course I wasn't alive in the 90s. But it still feels like an escape from the wider mainstream web. like would you rather doomscroll through twitter or instagram looking at streamlined graphics and politics and feel empty ORR look at some guy's blinkie collection on the obscure site of garfieldtwink69.net??

I also feel like learning how to code and do web design would help me be better at graphic design, at least to help me better understand coding as a medium. Being able to understand different art mediums and forms i feel would be useful for the career(s) I want to pursue. that being said i still have a bit of time to figure out what those are specifically. I want a job in the arts or humanities that actually has financial stability, so already not a lot of options and far from easy. My school workload + where I live does not make it easy to get a job so I monetized my youtube channel instead. I want to do art and gaming-adjacent videos there so follow me :P
